Snowy soccer fields delay state tournament
GRAND FORKS - Ol' Man winter threw a wrench into the opening round of the North Dakota State Soccer Tournament in Grand Forks.
Cushman Field was covered with several inches of snow.
The Grand Forks Public Schools even took to Facebook, asking for volunteers to help shovel the field.
Crews used the old fashioned way to remove the snow by using shovels.
The field is 100-yards long and 60-yards wide, and it's Pro Turf, not grass, so playing conditions were good, once the snow was cleared.
The opening game was delayed by about two hours.
