Medication Take Back Day to include two waves for drop off
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--On Tuesday, June 12, Bankers will lend a hand in Medication Take Back Day.
Medication Take Back Day is always a chance to clean out your medicine cabinet, but this time, you'll have two chances to do it.
For the first time, you can choose from two shifts to drop off your meds.
The first wave is in the morning, from 8-10, and the second will be in the evening, from 4-6.
Both shifts will be a drive-up, drop offs at Altru Health System's parking lot.
They say they hope giving the public more options will make it more convenient for people to turn in old meds.
"We're really trying to focus on people who might be going to or from work, who might not have been able to get off of work during that 9 to 2 time," said Carma Hanson, with Safe Kids Grand Forks.
Earlier this year, local law enforcement battled it out to see who could collect the most medication.
They collected more than 500 pounds.
This time, Alerus, Bremer Bank, and the Med Park Credit Union are going head to head to see who will collect the most.
