Campground filling up
EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (WDAZ)--An East Grand Forks campground opened just in time for summer vacation.
The weather's getting warmer, and the Red River State Recreation Park is filling up.
And this year--they're busier than usual.
Campground employees say they're drawing quite a few Canadians.
So while the rest of the town might be seeing a decrease in Canadian tourists, what makes the campground such a big hit?
The staff says it's because the campground experience is something you just can't buy online.
“You can't get the campground atmosphere and the nice fires, and s'mores. You can't get that peaceful and the deer walking through, maybe, you know?” said Employee, Catherine Johnson.
Campground employees say they're on track to have more visitors than last year.
