Fueling the fight against cancer
GRAND FORKS - A family owned store and gas station is fueling the fight against breast cancer.
On Friday afternoon from noon to 3 p.m., Dusterhoft family stores will pump your gas, wash your windows, and check your oil in exchange for a donation to the Altru Cancer Center.
Throughout the month, they'll also donate a dollar every time you check in at one of their stores on Facebook.
It's all in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The money go toward patients who have to travel for treatment--it covers the cost of hotels and gas money. It is a cause close to their hearts.
"This is an important cause for us because everyone has been affected by cancer. Everyone knows someone that has cancer or everyone has loved someone who has had cancer,” Dusterhoft Family Stores employee Heather Gilbert said.
If you miss the event on Friday, Oct. 5th, the store one 32nd will run the same deal on Friday the 12th.
