Pumpkin competition helps support community members battling Parkinson's
GRAND FORKS - A competition for a cause.
Thousands of pounds or orange turned into thousands of dollars of green.
Since the summer, teams have been trying to grow the biggest pumpkin.
The fundraiser brought in over $7,000 for YMCA programs helping people in our area who are living with Parkinson's.
The winning pumpkin weighed in at 624 pounds.
"It's coming home,” said Sue Jeno, of her winning pumpkin.
"It'll come back home and probably reside on a small trailer in front of the house, cause I know there's lots of little kids who want to come out and see the big pumpkin, so that'll be there for a while. I'm hopin' for pie,” John Jeno said.
