GRAND FORKS, ND--It's the week of the Grand Forks marathon--and kicks off the first event.

It's the 2nd annual Circle of Friends Hog Dog Jog Fun Run.

The Harley Owners Group, and a local pig named Fitz will be representing the HOGS and they kick off the fun run.

As for the dogs--pet owners can bring their furry friends to walk or run a mile and a half while games and music line the route.

Circle of Friends will be on site with adoptable animals.

All proceeds from the run will go toward new kennels for the shelter.

They plan to replace the wire kennels with plexiglass.

"The dogs in the end win because they'll  get those doors that are safer for them, quieter, it'll be easier to communicate the dogs' needs on those doors so there isn't as much room for human error,” said Circle of Friends Director, Lauralee Tupa.

The race kicks off tomorrow at 6:30pm in front of the Wild Hog Smokehouse--and you can still sign up for the run--online or on site.

Registration costs $25 for adults and $10 for kids.
