KFC apologizes to NDHP with free lunch

DEVILS LAKE, ND--New details about a story your news leader broke on Monday night.

KFC has released a statement after a North Dakota state trooper says he was refused service.

The trooper says he tried to order lunch at the KFC/Taco Bell in Devils Lake over the weekend, but claims the employee said ‘No,’ upset about a previous arrest by the trooper.

There is no record of arrest by the trooper of that employee.

On Tuesday, KFC released the following statement:

“The franchise who owns this location is conducting an investigation of this matter. The franchisee has contacted the trooper who was involved to apologize and assure him of their ongoing support of law enforcement.”

The chicken franchise is investigating if the employee should be disciplined. 

Corporate did say they will cater a free lunch for the regional office for the Highway Patrol.
